surrounded by twelve acres of its own gardens and fields has belonged to the Hine family (of Cognac fame) since 1978, and during that time has been carefully extended, refurbished and restored to create a stunningly attractive Country House Hotel with eighteen beautiful bedrooms, all individually furnished, many with antiques, and all with private bathrooms, colour TV, telephone, hair dryer and trouser press.

  • The Hotel

still revolves around the restaurant but Baba Hine who has handed over her kitchen to Martin Kinahan and Ian Goddard, who have worked beside her for many years, and are now running the kitchen with great success and keeping to food flag flying for Corse Lawn.

Meanwhile Baba is running the Front of House with Gilles and Vikki, both of whom have been at Corse Lawn for many years, and so are familiar faces to our many regulars. There is a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, which together with superb food and wine make the hotel a perfect place to unwind and relax.

  • On Arrival

you will find your larger than average bedroom, filled with Hine family antiques as well as thoughtful details such as bathrobes, a bowl of fresh fruit, freshly ground coffee, tea and home-made biscuits, all as standard.

There are two comfortable Drawing Rooms, a large Bistro Bar, a Private Dining Room / Conference Room for up to thirty persons, and a smaller Dining Room / Conference Room for up to twenty, as well as the delightful Restaurant seating fifty.

The Hotel and Restaurant are open all year, seven days a week, (except 24th, 25th and 26th December), and breakfasts, luncheons and dinners are served as well as morning coffee. Lunch and Dinner are available in the Bistro. There is a heated indoor Swimming Pool, a Croquet Lawn and Tennis Court. Golf can be arranged locally.

Fizz and Pinot Evenings with Giles Hine and Special Italian Dinner with guest chef Franco Taruschio

Giles is back from his wine company in New Zealand for a few months which makes him the perfect person to guide us through a Fizz and a Pinot Noir Evening.

Franco cooks at The Corse Lawn House Hotel about twice a year and as well as his food being absolutely delicious, they are always lovely evenings with a great atmosphere.

We also have FOUR lunchtime demonstrations in February and March which are always very popular.

Denis Hine

A serious selection of wines, originally set up by the late Denis Hine. Being born a Frenchman  and a member of the Hine Cognac Family, Denis had a natural pedigree as a wine enthusiast and together with his great friend, Bill Baker of Reid Wines, he created one of the best and most eclectic lists in land. Today it is run by Denis’ son and our Manager, Gilles Champier, himself the son of a French winegrower near Lyon.
